Do you sit there scrolling your social media, seeing women on the street, look at friends or picture-perfect women such as Erika Costell, and wonder how they do it? How do they embrace their beauty and feel good in their own skin?
If you too are wanting to embrace your personal beauty and feel happy and confident in your body, you need to change your mantra and self-care habits. The changes needed are simple in practice. The logic isn’t necessarily rocket science but when applied, it will revolutionize your life.
Don’t Compare Yourself To Others
Competitiveness is ingrained in society. You watch sports and watch your kids compete in sports day, so it comes easy to compare yourself to another person. This however is not healthy. There is no benefit to comparing yourself to another person. The truth is there is only one you. Nobody else is the same. Once this is realized, you can start shifting that energy into your personal journey and you. This very act of changing where you apply your energy will lift a weight that you’ve been carrying around and you will feel freer and happier.
Your Opinion Is The Only One That Matters
You will never be able to please everyone. So, simply stop worrying about what others think or expect when it comes to you. All this does is waste your time, effort, energy and stop you from investing in and applying that energy to things that will actually benefit you.
Mistakes Are Okay
As a child, you were most likely told that mistakes are okay and everybody makes them. However, as you get older there becomes a pressure of sorts, to make sure everything is done perfectly and mistakes are no longer made. This mentality only leads to self-destruction and you not embracing who you are. Everyone makes mistakes. It is how people learn. So, instead of shying away from those previous mistakes and mishaps in the past, embrace them. They are a learning opportunity and will allow you to change and grow. This is a natural right of passage. The person you were then, isn’t you of today, or the you in the future. You are constantly changing.
So when you hear that narrative in your mind holding you back and saying you need to be perfect, squash it. Jump straight in, you will learn and gain experiences and knowledge about yourself which will shape your future.
Your Appearance Doesn’t Determine Your Worth
This is a fundamental lesson to learn in order to love you and everything about you. There are many narratives and things in the world suggesting the country such as you need to wear certain clothes etc. You may even find it is your own mind and opinion of an image that makes you feel inadequate.
None of that is true! The value you bring comes from within. It isn’t from your body shape or the clothes you wear. So wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, confident, and happy.
