Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1 tsp salt

- 1/2 cup milk

- 2 large eggs

- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

- 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

- 1/3 cup chopped fresh chives (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

2. In a separate bowl, beat the milk, eggs, and melted butter together until well blended.

3. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture, whisking constantly until a smooth, thick batter forms.

4. Stir in the chopped parsley and chives, if using.

5. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

6. Grease a steamer basket or a colander with cooking spray or butter.

7. Spoon the batter into the steamer basket or colander, filling it about 2/3 full.

8. Place the steamer basket or colander over the boiling water, cover the pot with a lid, and steam the dumplings for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and fluffy.

9. Use a slotted spoon or spatula to remove the dumplings from the steamer basket or colander and transfer them to a serving dish.

10. Serve the dampfnudeln hot as a side dish or main course, topped with gravy, cheese, or other toppings as desired. Enjoy!
