If your business maintains a physical office space or commercial premises, even if you do not see clients there, it is important that it always looks and feels good, not only because it is a very visible representation of your company, but also because your office space can have a surprisingly significant effect on your employees and the quality of their work.

That’s why it’s so important that you’re able to spot the tell-tale signs that your office space is due a revamp, something we can help you with below.

1. It looks shabby

The most obvious sign that your office needs a revamp is the fact that it looks shabby. If the parking lot is full of potholes and hasn’t seen an asphalt paving professional in years if the windows ars dirty and rarely cleaned if the roof is missing tiles and in desperate need of a roofer, or even if the walls are just caked in layers of dirt and pollution because you haven’t bothered to repaint it in years, it’s a huge glaring sign that your office is due a revamp.

Doing so will ensure that your business makes a better first impression and that your employees are a bit less embarrassed to be seen heading into work each day.

2. It’s outdated

In a similar vein, if your office space appears outdated in terms of style and decor you may want to think about doing a little renovation. Businesses need to adapt to trends, and that applies as much to trends in workplace decor as anything else, If you want to be taken seriously as a professional modern business, you need to look the part. Not only that, but old furniture is likely to be less comfortable and more likely to cause injuries to your employees, which means more sick days, more physical therapy appointments, and less productive workers. You know an update makes sense.

3. It doesn’t reflect your brand

If your office space is chintzy when your brand is ultra-minimalist and cool or vice versa, you need to change that now. Your brand needs to present a cohesive image and that extends to your workplace just as much as your social media profiles or websites and logos, etc.

4. Your employees are unhappy and unproductive

It has been proven that certain colors in the office are more likely to make employees happy, calm, productive - basically whatever you need them to be. It has also been shown that natural light and plants can boost satisfaction levels and productivity in the office, while also relieving stress. So, as you can imagine, your office space is really important for the success of your business, which means if your employees are unhappy, and you know that you have a generally great workplace culture, it could be a sign that you’ve got the decor all wrong and a few quick tweaks could make all the difference.

If you spot any of these key signs in your company, it could be time for an office renovation project!
