Treefort is extra. Like, really extra, with hundreds of bands, and plenty of forts. Festival-goers have 5 days of discovery, celebration and joy. All that energy can really test your stamina. Sustenance and hydration are a must.

A festival on the scale of Treefort has so many moving parts, we figured we should probably share some tips ... and here they are, courtesy of Nichole Marie, host of the popular Radio Boise show, The Rapture. We’ll call it P R E P F O R T.

Things to Bring:

Earplugs

 Masks

Reusable cup for Water & Beer

 Phone Chargers

   ID

  Cash

   Snacks

 Koozie (optional)

Lessons from Experience:

Layer up.

 Have some pockets.

Dress for all kinds of weather. (See first one).

Opt for a cross body bag or bum bag — Ditch the bulky bag/backpack

Skip the tights and jumpsuits. Jumpsuits are cool but do you really want to spend all that time in the port-a-pot missing the music?

Use alternate-transportation

Carpool

Hop on the Valley Regional Transit. VRT is giving anyone with a Treefort wristband a free ride during the festival. Not only that, it also has its Treeline shuttle service to get festival goers to and where they need to be. Schedule shows it runs Wednesday - Saturday

Freefort. You can find a lot at Treefort at no cost, like Radio Boise’s Radioland, Second Chance Shows.

The forecast for Treefort 10 looks pretty rad right now but if you come unprepared, that radness might turn to badness — snap, look what I did there. HA.

Use the Treefort app and share it with friends.

Instead of hustling to as many places as possible, consider going with the flow. Sometimes, this allows you to discover aspects of the festival you didn’t know even existed.

Noteworthy:

 Change shoes daily

Let your ears rest (this is a real thing!)

Stretch

Keep the table talk down. Why do people talk during live shows anyway?? This indie prof guy has a theory.

Never throw anything on stage! (Unless it’s money. That might be okay).
