If you happen to be somewhat successful, and you have finally started building your little business empire, the chances are that you probably have some sort of commercial storage space somewhere. Whether you own the building, or maybe rent it, you need to keep it maintained and presentable at all times. “Why?” you may ask? Well, other than the obvious “Cleanliness is next to godliness”, it’s about the safety of your staff, and general efficiency. Of course, there are moments when you need to go that extra mile when you have some clients coming over. If a potential client comes to visit, wanting to see the state of your warehouse, keep in mind that this is very much going to be representing your company. If you want to leave the best possible impression, make sure to keep the following points in mind.

Keep everything well lit
Nobody hates anything more that a crummy old warehouse with flickering lights and some areas shrouded in darkness where even the bravest person in the room wouldn’t dare to venture. No, a flashlight is not an appropriate solution, and if you want to keep your clients under the impression that you have everything handled, under control, and accounted for, then there is nothing better than some commercial grade pendant lights to go around the interior. They are solid, effective, and not exactly unpleasant to look at. A reliable solution, for the appropriate interior.
Clean up
Much like your office or your room, you wouldn’t invite anyone over if everything is a mess. Give yourself and your staff a few days to organise everything and make sure your warehouse is looking clean and as neat as possible. Of course, this should be kept up as routinely as possible, but we all know that no one is perfect and sometimes you just end up with some less-than-perfect states of cleanliness around our workplaces. Equip your employees with some appropriate cleaning tools like an industrial vacuum cleaner and some good floor cleaner, to keep the warehouse good as new.
Cleanliness is important, but organization is key
To spare yourself the trouble of making the rounds several times around the block before you finally find something which you’ve been meaning to show to your client, make sure everything is in its correct place. Label things accordingly, to make sure that anything which you might need to show, is easily found and accessed. It’s sometimes easy to just put something down on the shelf somewhere rather than back in its place, and let’s be honest we are all guilty of this sometimes, so it’s only understandable that some things can be misplaced at times.

Keep your paperwork handy
Other than just keeping your warehouse physically organised, you better have all the necessary paperwork to go with it within reach. Rather than having to dig through folders and folders of stacks of papers in the office, make sure you have all your certificates ready to show off in case the need arises, and knowing how these kind of meetings usually go, it most probably will.
