Every business wants to play a key role in shaping and moving the industry they operate in. nowadays they call it, being a thought-leader. You cannot honestly say that you would not like your views to be playing an important role in how experts and other brands see the industry, customers and the world at large? Every product you make, is hopefully to have a hand in improving the world somehow and the industry you work in. Maybe you are hosting an award show, or perhaps a product launch, or maybe just a speech about where you think the industry could go in the next 10 years. So how do you invite industry experts to come to your event?

Doing so in person

What is an industry expert? It's someone who studies the industry you work in, and they could be any of the following.

  • Working in the media. Many people who have extensive knowledge about an industry are in the journalism field.

  • Authors. Many experts also write for business magazines and also, books about various topics and trends in industries. The financial industry is prevalent with this sort of thing.

  • They might also be fellow competitors. You may not see eye to eye all the time, but you should want to invite your competitors to view your product launch and talk about shared technology and approaches.

  • Many industry experts work in think tanks or trend analysis companies.

Meeting them in person to give them an invite or a heads up about their invite could go down very well. You have taken the time to meet them, have coffee or just have a short chat face to face.

Give them a formal invite

But what about a formal invite so they know they are actually invited? This can be done if you make our very own physical invite, such as that on a professional specialist printing website like thefoilprintingco.com. You can print your invite on silk, uncoated and even recycled materials. The touch and feel of the product should be special, and the design should be professional but a little personal as well. You can have the usual ‘request for your attendance’ but you should try to say why you want them at your show. You may admire their achievements, like to know what they think or just catch up with them.

Give them a sample

Maybe you would like to host a product launch event. But the product hasn’t really been seen. Giving a prototype sample to someone in the media who is an expert in your field, would entice them to cover your event and also attend in person. These kinds of media exclusives are done all the time and they really allow your brand to wedge it's foot in the door to a potentially good article or interview.

You can and should invite an industry expert to your event, just be sure to give them plenty of warning ahead of time and a formal invite that looks great.
