At zenruption, we’re bringing you, the average person, the latest fresh and original content that not only inspires, engages, and entertains, but also navigates a world of complexity and “zenrupts” existing cultural norms, markets, political ideologies, economic and social structures, and business models. Our goal is to modernize the world and remove legacy mindsets of oppressive models and expectations.
zenruption is about empowering all corners of society and rejecting the idea that some people are entitled to enslave others, be it explicitly or implicitly, and having a really fucking good time while destroying the the status quo in this short existence.
We've assembled a team who have worked with the prevailing powers and succeeded- or just totally taken them by surprise. We provide fresh content, challenging the current paradigms in an effort to mobilize everyone to participate in the creation of a more thoughtful world. We post everything from our current favorite drink recipes to cutting-edge tech trends to new business paradigms and combine that with some zen wisdom and tell everyone else to fuck off if they can't take on a worldview that is compassionate and realistic.

Brian McKay is a co-founder of zenruption, the President of Extra Pro Services and the President and creator of PETiO DOOR INC. He has a B.A. in Political Science from Gonzaga University and an M.B.A. from Boise State University (yes that blue field). His goal in life is to look out for the regular guy and bring as much knowledge and change to this world as he can. His purpose in founding zenruption was to do just that and help craft the world he wants his daughter to inherit. Jerry Mooney is co-founder and managing editor of zenruption and the author of History Yoghurt and the Moon. He studied at the University of Munich and Lewis and Clark College where he received his BA in International Affairs and West European Studies. He has recently taught Language and Communications at a small, private college and owned various businesses, including an investment company. Jerry is committed to zenrupting the forces that block social, political and economic justice. He can also be found on Twitter.
Zoe Zorka is a writer, author, model and host. Those are just a few things that describe our VP of Creative Development. Zoe has her BA in Communications and Doctorate of Business Administration. In the past, she has written for Newsweek, Elite Daily, CNN, Her Magazine and other smaller publications. On top of all of that she is a published author of the book Turn Our Eyes Away.For zenruption, she is working at establishing a positive video series for small business owners (SWEET!). We think she is hilarious online, awesome to have drinks with and is potentially a secret agent for MI6.
Ashley Wilson is the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, as well as the latest addition to the zenruption team. This INTJ has made her home in Boise, ID, New Delhi, India, Los Angeles, CA, Dallas, TX and, most recently, Portland, OR. An infovore and passionate in her quest to understand the world and all who inhabit it, she can usually be found engaging in heated political debates, listening to TED talks, quoting Christopher Hitchens, checking out the latest Wikileaks release or watching C-SPAN with her favorite feline, Molly. Evan Feeley has been a traveler who is now putting down roots, and not just metaphorically. Sharon Jones is a contributor to zenruption and has her B.A. in Political Science from UCLA. As a new mother, she is interested in helping shape the world her daughter will inherit. She likes pina coladas and taking walks in the rain.
Lina Martinez has her B.S. in Journalism and a regular contributor to our Politics, Life and Money sections. She once admitted over drinks to singing "Careless Whisper" in the shower. We are still trying to get her to sing it at karaoke.
David Watton is a serial entrepreneur who has built and sold several successful businesses. Serial entrepreneurs are our favorite serial anything and David is an awesome one. Currently, David is the Director of Channel Sales for Ataraxis. We are happy to have him as a new business contributor. We love his business insights.
Joel Ekstein is a contributor to our tech and business sections and is an eCommerce retail expert with over 12 years experience in the industry. He has had experience in buyer and inventory forecasting, marketing, and expanding customer base in new markets. This guy knows his stuff and we like people that know their stuff and zenrupt.
Skot Ward describes himself as such: I've had 41 trips around the sun to make sense of this little blue dot floating inside infinite space. I truly believe that if enough people care, we can all make sense of it together.

One could say that McKenzie Stalkenburg is too much the pretty girl for zenruption. Naw, she likes to disrupt shit. She doesn't believe in the capitalistic myth and likes working on a budget. Yep, she makes Martha Stewart look like a poser. Her favorite drink is a blackberry mojito. Actually, that kind of figures.
Rob Dorgan considers himself a spiritual anarchist. He is experimenting with setting himself free from the inside out. Rob has an M.A. in European History, he is a registered yoga teacher and personal trainer. He and his partner, Steve Bolia, host retreats called “Personal Training for the Body and Soul” in various places around the country.
Nigel Hilton is a world traveler, environmental nut, beer lover and a self-proclaimed over-thinker. He loves to argue politics and doesn't care that smoking makes him a hypocrite. Go Manchester United and when he says football, it means soccer, YANK!
Ash Stevens is a writer who doubles as a pretend philosopher and a wannabe shaman.
