Nipton is a tiny town in the Mojave Desert, situated at about an hour’s drive from the city of Las Vegas. The population in the town is so scarce that on a day when everyone is home, the total number comes to about 16! As it happens, a company based in Phoenix has decided to buy the entire town and turn it into the “Pot Paradise” of California.

The Deal

All property in the tiny town was privately owned by the few dwellers that do still live there. However, everything in Nipton is now owned by the aforementioned Phoenix-based company, American Green. They bought the 80-acres of land, two houses, a few dilapidated buildings, and even a small solar farm for roughly $5 million.

American Green

American Green is a completely legal, publicly traded establishment, which has built a market for itself by selling products related to marijuana. It is to be noted that American Green has no history of farming or even selling marijuana or similar products. The Project Manager for the company, Stephen Shearin further clarified that they won’t be conducting any industrial activities that may violate the federal laws in regard to producing or selling cannabis-related products in the state, like hemp.

Many products that are related to marijuana are available now, to the extent that the growth of this market seems to be endless. For the consumer, these products have been well studied by researchers and it is advised they spend time researching the studies themselves, should they wish to learn more before getting themselves a CBD product so they can pick the absolute best one for their specific needs.

The Future

The question is that why would a company buy so much land in the middle of the desert and have the dream of turning it into a “Pot Paradise” if they have no plans of growing or selling marijuana? The answer lies in the future. American Green is waiting for California’s recreational marijuana law to take effect next year, by which time, they will have prepared the necessary infrastructure for nearby cannabis-based businesses to move in and start production. American Green wants Nipton to become a place for eco-tourism and even has plans to build more structures to facilitate that.

It’s Not All Sunshine

Unfortunately for the company, Alan Brochstein (renowned expert in Marijuana related investments) doesn’t think that this was a good investment by American Green. He points out that at this moment, the company doesn’t even have a full $200,000 in cash. As is the case with businesses in general, American Green’s marijuana project might require more significant investments down the line, which could prove to be too much of a task for the company, given its current financial standings.

The California State Law regarding cannabis regulation will change in less than a year’s time, but if you want to get to know more about cannabis and maybe even order a small amount right now, check out the cannabis directory for detailed information about everything.

As far as the small town of Nipton is concerned though, it is standing on the brink of two roads. One road that leads to prosperity and growth for the town and its citizens via this green rush, and the other circles round to where they are right now; a quiet but almost forgotten place with little to no future.
