Time-Out: Best Places To Go To Catch A Peaceful Break
By Nigel Hilton
If you've been feeling stressed recently, or maybe you just can't catch a break and need some time to be alone to think about things, peacefully, now is the time to listen to yourself.
Listen to your body; it will tell you where it needs to go.
Park
Whether you want to read a book, get a tan, exercise or just watch the clouds go by, parks are the perfect place to do so. The best bit about parks is that they are free, it doesn't cost you anything to go. Just bring a blanket and a magazine, maybe even some art supplies if you're feeling creative. Or you could prepare your own, personal picnic. Whatever you decide to bring with you, don't forget to take in all that beautiful nature.
Museum
If you enjoy learning about history in a secure, peaceful setting, then why not consider going to a museum? Depending on where you go and what you want to see, will vary the cost. Having said that, most local museums on the history of the area don't cost you anything to enter, although they will always welcome donations. So hop on a bus or a train and spend some hours learning about how life was in the past.
Café
Cafés are a lovely place to go for a time out. Not only can they be a nice environment to hang out, you can even get a drink (and a snack!) Maybe you have work to do, but you can't concentrate at home; just grab your laptop and go to your favorite café for a couple of hours. On the condition that you are a paying customer - you can stay there for as long as you like. Café Services even bring the cafe experience to you.
Library
Are you a bookworm that loves getting lost in new, magical adventures? If you are, then a library is the perfect place to go. It's peaceful, cozy, you can spend all day there, and it's free! Just choose a corner to settle down in and open up that book. Reading can even relax your body by lowering your heart rate and easing the tension in your muscles. It even lowers stress faster than other relaxation methods, such as listening to music or drinking a hot cup of tea!
Farm
If you're an animal lover then why not go and visit one of your local farms? This is a great way to be at one with nature and the wildlife surrounding it. Some farms may even let you pet the animals, and if you go in the springtime when the babies are born, you may even be allowed to feed them. (So cute!)
Wherever you decide on going to get that much-needed peace and quiet, just make sure it's somewhere you really enjoy, that has no bad distractions or negative energy. You want to be able to focus on the positive and be completely stress free.
Only you can decide where that may be.
