7 Ways To Feel Good About Your Life Achievements

by Lina Martinez

Celebrating life’s achievements can be a lot of fun. You may have a list of things you want to master, or you may wing it as you go. Whether you have a plan or not, achieving anything can be cause for celebration. Some people may avoid celebrating too much, especially if they are too self critical, or cynical. Perhaps they convince themselves that what they achieved wasn’t actually that impressive in the first place. Does this sound like you? If so, below you’ll find 7 ways to feel good about your life achievements.

  1. Speak To Somebody Who Will Be Happy For You

Not everybody knows how to celebrate another person’s achievements. It can feel worse to share your achievements with some people when they rebuff them or try to tell you that it isn't as good as you think it is. Hopefully, you have at least one person who will share genuine excitement with you and hype you up. If you can think of that person, share your achievement with them. You don’t have to share your achievements with anybody you think will bring you down.

2. Reward Yourself

There are many ways you can reward yourself. You could treat yourself to a pamper night, an item you’ve had your eye on for ages, or in another way you see fit. Setting yourself rewards when you reach certain milestones can be a great motivator and help to keep you pushing forward.

3. Show Them Off In A Special Room

Showing your achievements off in a room dedicated to your achievements could help you to see how far you’ve come and show your achievements off to guests, too. If you don’t have a spare room, use a corner of a room or a plain wall. Creating a feature wall can be just as satisfying. You could purchase display cases for veteran flags and similar items to ensure that you can show everything off perfectly.

4. Count Your Blessings Every Day

Count your blessings each day and don’t forget how far you’ve come. Try to focus on what you’ve achieved rather than how far you have to go.

5. Compare Your Progress

Look back at where you were when you started. You probably dreamed of being where you are now. Whether it feels like it or not, you’ve come a long way. Appreciate that and appreciate the journey you’ve been on. You may still have a way to go, but that doesn’t mean you can’t feel good about where you are now.

6. Find A Way To Celebrate

Celebrating with people you love can be a lot of fun and a great way to remember your achievement. See if you can arrange a dinner, or even drinks. You may need to do this over zoom depending on the location of your people and what’s going on in the world, but it can still be a lot of fun.

7. Write About It

Keep a written journal of your achievements and how you feel and look back on it from time to time! Journaling can be very satisfying and a great way to commemorate your achievements.
